Industry veteran Jamie Burr recently joined the National Pork Board as the organization’s new Chief Sustainability Officer.
Burr’s background in the industry started in his youth, being born and raised on a hog farm. He spent the past two decades with Tyson foods in progressively senior roles, such as Director of Sustainability Implementation and most recently Director, Environmental Compliance.
“Jamie brings an innate ability to communicate across audiences and is known for being a collaborative leader who instills trust,” Managing Partner Sally Day said. “His deep foundational knowledge of this sector paired with his strong network of industry experts will prove extremely beneficial in his new role.”
As the Chief Sustainability Officer for the National Pork Board, Burr is responsible for overseeing the sustainability program and team for the organization. Together with his team, Burr will develop environmental practice strategies that help balance business obligations with the goal of improving local and global environments.
